The Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC)’s acting Managing Director, Sammy Gyamfi, has predicted that Ghanaians will soon realize that politicians are not all created equal.
He emphasized the difference between those who use flattery to deceive for political gain and those who uphold integrity, honoring the social contract they have with the people, in his remarks prior to the 2025 budget statement and economic policy being presented to Parliament.
Mr. Gyamfi emphasized that some politicians put flattering the public first in order to gain power, while others use deceit to gain office regardless of the promises they make to the populace.
“I am confident that today, Ghanaians will come to the realisation that all politicians are not the same. There are those who flatter to deceive just for purposes of power, and there are those who lie their way into office with no respect to their social contract with the people,” the acting PMMC MD stated.
“There are politicians with integrity, like His Excellency John Dramani Mahama – the man we all follow, the man we all serve, who has respect and regard for his social contract with the people,” he added.
“Right from this budget, you are going to see a government that keeps its social contract with the people. You are going to see the Minister of Finance announce a lot of policies in fulfillment of promises we made in our 120-day social contract and in our manifesto,” Sammy Gyamfi told Accra-based Metro TV.
