432 police recruits pass-out at Tesano

A total of 432 Cadet Officers successfully after undergoing months of training have been commissioned into the Senior Corps of the Service.

They were trained in areas such as criminal investigation, professional police ethics, practical police duties and service instruction. Other courses were: criminal law, criminal procedure, law of evidence and acts and decrees, which encompasses domestic violence, child trafficking, children’s right and road traffic regulations.

In order for the Police and the Election Security Taskforce to carry out their responsibilities efficiently, the Vice President urged all Ghanaians, including political stakeholders, to support them.

In attendance were, Minister for the Interior, Hon. Henry Quartey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Titus Glover, Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Naana Eyiah, Ag. Chief Director, of the Ministry, Mrs. Doreen Annan and other senior government officials.

Cadet Officer Achiburi Issah was honoured as the overall Best Cadet Officer.

At the 430 Cadet Officers’ graduation ceremony from the 53rd Cadet Course of the Police Training Academy in Tesano, Accra, Vice President Bawumia delivered the remarks.

The Vice President was confident that the Police would continue to remain professional in the discharge of their duties during the polls.

“The Police is always at the centre of election security in Ghana, and it is important that officers act responsibly. The neutral, fair and firm election policing that we have witnessed before should be the reasons for optimism,” the Vice President stated.
