Ghana’s economy is in crisis, and people are suffering greatly, according to President John Dramani Mahama, who has voiced his profound concern about the country’s situation.
Mahama was blunt about the seriousness of the situation when he gave Parliament his first State of the Nation Address of his second term on Thursday, February 27.
“I am sad to report that the state of our nation is not good,” he stated, highlighting the severe economic crisis and the unprecedented hardships faced by Ghanaians.
The president underlined that the Finance Minister’s budget presentation on March 11 and the forthcoming National Economic Dialogue, which is set for March 3 and 4, will offer a thorough analysis of the country’s economic problems and suggest potential solutions.
“Mr. Speaker, it is not my style to lament and shift blame when confronted with challenges,” he asserted. “I have therefore not come here to lament on the state of our country, though there is much to lament about.”
