The planned opening date of the New Juaben North Municipal Hospital is March 3, 2025.
President Nana Akufo-Addo officially opened the fully furnished and equipped 40-bed hospital on December 5, 2024, but it has remained closed ever since.
The hospital’s operationalization was delayed, which concerned the residents.
On Tuesday, February 25, however, a tour of the facility showed that technicians and painters were finishing touches in anticipation of the facility’s formal public opening.
Modern amenities at the hospital include an X-ray unit, theater, maternity ward, pharmacy, laboratory, and outpatient department.
The New Juaben North Municipal Health Director, Nana Yaa Konadu, attested to the fact that the facility’s employees have received training.
“As a matter of fact, our 40-bed capacity New Juaben North Municipal Hospital so far as we speak is 100% complete. We’ve had staff training on equipment and how to use the facility. What we are left now is training for the use of the X-ray, scan machines, and anesthetic machines”.
She added ” a week away from today we are going to start with the OPD operations and then gradually we cascade to the in-patient. As we speak the team is in place the equipment, everything is set and for us it is just some administrative works. We hoping that by 3rd of March we will be able to kick off”.
