Former NSS deputy boss Gifty Oware-Mensah arrives in Ghana

Gifty Oware Mensah, the former Deputy Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), has returned to Ghana as part of an ongoing investigation into the NSA’s ghost names scandal.

Oware Mensah, who had been in the United States following the elections, reportedly arrived on Tuesday afternoon and was greeted by some family members at the airport.

Her arrival comes after rumors circulated that National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) officials had been trying to have her arrested in relation to the scandal.

Her return follows the NIB’s arrest of Kwaku Ohene Gyan, also known as Osonoba, the former NSA Deputy Director of Operations.

Allegations of fraudulent payments to nonexistent National Service employees are at the heart of the NSA’s ghost names scandal.

The state suffered large financial losses as a result of the insertion of thousands of ghost names into the system, according to investigations.
