The government’s Business Statement and Economic Policy for the year ending December 31, 2025, will be presented to Parliament today, March 11, by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.
During Friday’s Business Statement for the ninth week ending Friday, March 14, Deputy Majority Leader Mr. Kweku Ricketts-Hagan announced the presentation, which is in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution.
The Speaker of Parliament stated that the Finance Minister will formally present the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy on behalf of the President of the Republic.
He reminded Members of Parliament (MPs) to make sure they are present in the House on the appointed date.
Some high-ranking lawmakers told the media what they expected from the budget presentation.
There were differing views among them; some were hoping to hear a sliver of various nuisance charges, such as the COVID-19 levy, the E-levy, and the betting tax, among others.
To support the successful implementation of the Affirmative Action Gender Equity Act 2024, the government is asked to allocate a significant amount of funds to the Gender Ministry.
