The Minority Leader, Mr. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, sharply criticized the Finance Minister’s budget presentation in Parliament today, accusing the government of presenting what he called a misleading budget, or “Azaah.”
He made these comments after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s budget, Part 2, was presented. He said the budget did not adequately address important economic issues.
“This is nothing more than part two of the NDC’s lamentations series,” Afenyo Markin said, expressing dissatisfaction with the government’s fiscal plans.
He underlined that the budget was, in his opinion, a continuation of the government’s propensity to shift blame and lacked specific, doable plans to address Ghana’s economic difficulties.
His criticism comes as opposition leaders are calling for more comprehensive measures to address Ghana’s economic and fiscal challenges, and the government’s budget is still under scrutiny. It is anticipated that both sides will continue to discuss the budget’s ability to promote long-term national development as the debate heats up.
