Ofori-Atta Has Lost Credibility, He Cannot Negotiate For Ghana With IMF-Divine Nkrumah

The Youth Coordinator of the Progressive People’s Party, Divine Nkrumah has taken a swipe at the Minister of Finance, Kenneth Nana Yaw Kuntunkunuku Ofori-Atta, saying he has no credibility to lead negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on behalf of Ghana.

According to him, the Minister has lost credibility and is not fit to lead the negotiation between Ghana and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“Somebody who didn’t want to be taking this route, how can you say he should lead it?”Divine Nkrumah exclusively told Kwaku Owusu Adjei(Patoo) on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9.

He indicated that, ”the Finance Minister who has supervised the disastrous collapse of the economy cannot and should not be part of the team of negotiators. He has lost credibility and the trust and confidence of stakeholders in our economy.”

“We must draw useful lessons from this episode and avoid cheap politicking with the economy; that can only yield the disastrous outcomes that have brought us here.”

He said Mr Ofori-Atta cannot be made to complete the negotiations as he is already faltering with it.

He asked the government to design a homegrown prograamme to help the country resolve the crisis.
