Ghana’s Catholic community has applauded Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, for his visit to Pope Francis, praising it as an example of religious tolerance and variety.
A number of Catholic Facebook users showed their appreciation for the visit in response to a post from the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference that included Dr. Bawumia and Pope Francis.
According to one of the users, Fahad Mohammed Sulemana, it’s proof of Dr. Bawumia’s diplomatic abilities.
“Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s meeting with Pope Francis is a testament to his diplomatic skills and Ghana’s standing on the global stage.”
Emmanuel Ntow, a different Facebook user, emphasized the visit’s importance in promoting collaboration between Ghana and the Vatican and called it a constructive move.
“Positive steps towards enhancing cooperation between Ghana and the Vatican.”
Another Facebook user, Prosper Nartey, said that the Vice President’s visit is a historic occasion for both Dr. Bawumia and Ghana.
