The Member of Parliament for Sene West, Kwame Twumasi Ampofo, has called on the government to prioritize the completion of the Atebubu road.
Speaking in an interview, he highlighted the importance of the road completion, noting it will improve the livelihoods of local residents and Ghanaian traders.
Mr. Ampofo expressed concern that despite a contractor being assigned to the project and equipment being brought to the site, the government has a history of abandoning such projects, citing a similar incident in 2020 where only 10km of the road was constructed before being left in a state of disrepair.
The MP highlighted the negative impact of the poor road conditions, including an increase in armed robbery activities and farm produce being left to rot due to farmers’ inability to transport their goods to market.
Mr. Ampofo emphasized that the people of Sene West and surrounding areas deserve a fair share of the national resources and that their roads should not be used as a political tool for winning elections.
