Bawumia is a failure, vote out NPP – Ofosu Ampofo

A former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as a failure.

Speaking with ChannelOne TV, Mr. Ampofo criticized Dr. Bawumia for attempting to distance himself from the poor economic mismanagement, saying he has failed to meet expectations of salvaging the economy.

He compared Dr. Bawumia to Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, who is known for presenting new ideas to gain power.

Mr. Ampofo urged Ghanaians to learn from the South African elections and vote out the current government, expressing surprise at the silence over the country’s hardships.

“Ghanaians should look at what has happened in South Africa over their election and take their decision that will chart a new path for the future of this country,” he said.

According to him, the NPP under President Akufo-Addo and Bawumia has taken the country for granted, and the silence of voices that used to speak out when the NDC was in power is surprising.

However, he expressed hope that ordinary Ghanaians would rise to the occasion and show that there is a need for a change of government.
