HON. FRANCIS ASENSO-BOAKYE MINISTER FOR ROADS AND HIGHWAYS INSPECTED PROJECTS IN THE UPPER EAST AND NORTH EAST REGIONS.

First, the minister visited the Kulaa bridge in Bolgatanga, part of the Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom Road project. This project benefits over 750,000 people by enhancing safety, reducing travel times, and boosting trade with neighbouring countries like Togo and Burkina Faso. He was accompanied by Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Rex Asanga and Regional Security Council officials.

Next, he assessed the Navrongo-Chuchuliga-Tumu and Chuchuliga-Sandema roads, which are 68% complete. These roads link the Kasena Nankana and Builsa North Districts in the Upper East Region to Tumu in the Upper West Region, serving several farming communities. Builsa North MCE Madam Vida Akantagriwen Anaab and Builsa South DCE Daniel Kwame Gariba joined me.

In the North East region, the Minister addressed chiefs and elders at Yagaba with the Youth and Sports Minister and MP for Yagaba-Kubori, Hon. Mustapha Ussif. They also inspected the Walewale-Wa road and the Yagaba-Kubrick-Mankragu road, which is progressing steadily.

At Kpasenkpe, North East Regional Minister, Hon. Yidana Zakaria and MP for Walewale, Hon. Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu led the Minister to the palace of the Wulugu Naba, Naa Prof. John S. Nabila.

In Mishuo, the Minister inspected a 210 meter long bridge over the River White Volta and the construction of 9.4 km of access roads from Mishuo to Woyema to address flooding challenges and improves access to healthcare, education, and other essential services for communities like Woyema and Yagaba.

Finally, the Minister inspected the road networks within Walewale, including the upgrading of Walewale town roads, the Walewale-Zangum-Zangu roads, and the Demia-Guabuluga roads.

“The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration recognizes the crucial role of roads, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure to connect communities, and indeed all regions of the country, with the view to promoting sustainable economic growth and development.” He stated.
