The country’s inflation rate for the month of June significantly decreased, coming in at 22.8% according to the most recent data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).

The country’s June inflation rate dropped significantly to 22.8%, according to the most recent data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).

Prof. Anim provided additional details regarding the GSS’s Consumer Price Index statistics during a press briefing on Wednesday in Accra. He said that the reported rates of food inflation and non-food inflation, which were 24.0% and 21.6%, respectively, showed differing effects on the consumer market.

Prof. Anim added that, when looking at things year over year, the 22.8% inflation rate signifies a significant rise in pricing for products and services between June 2023 and June 2024.

He underlined the slowdown in inflation rise as well as the monthly rates’ progressive downward trend, which culminated in June’s recorded decline.
