“Credit Scoring to Enable Ghanaians Buy Cars and Service Loans” – Bawumia

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on Tuesday July 23, 2024, announced a proposal on the operation of a Credit Scoring System in Ghana during his constituency-focused campaign at Lambussie, Nandom and Lawra.

He noted that, “With the very significant issuance of the Ghana Card, the merging of databases and the exponential growth of financial inclusion following the success of mobile money Interoperability, all is now set for the operation of a Credit Scoring system for Ghana”.

“Among many benefits, the operation of a Credit Scoring system will make it easier for the ordinary Ghanaian to purchase essentials such as cars, mobile phones, obtain loans at lower interest rates. In most advanced nations, mobile phones can even be obtained for free from the phone companies with a two or three year contract subject to your credit score”, Dr. Bawumia added.

He shared this vision together with his other game changing policies he seeks to implement when voted for as President. The constituents of Lambussie, Nandom and Lawra have expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s bold solutions which will further enhance development in Ghana.
