George Kofi Adjei (Joe Kad), the chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Nhyiaeso seat in the Ashanti Region passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
Before he passed away, Joe Kad, who is said to be the NPP’s longest-serving constituency chairman, was ill and spent almost a week at the UGMC.
Many NPP supporters have turned to social media to express their grief after learning of his departure.
The NPP’s Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, wrote on his WhatsApp status; “Wofa Joe damirifa Due my good friend.”
Another NPP Deputy Director of Communications, Krobea, also posted the message, “Awww Chairman Joe Kad. Strongman da yie,” on WhatsApp.
