Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, has mocked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Mahama, over their job creation record.
While touting what he describes as “impressive” and ‘”unmatched” record of the Akufo-Addo government, Adomako-Mensah questioned Mahama’s promise to create jobs, citing his past record as president.
Appearing as a pundit on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Wednesday, the NPP scribe threw cold water on Mahama’s promises.
“John Mahama’s problem is that he has been a president before, and so anytime he makes a promise of increasing jobs for the youth, the question will be, what was his record with youth employment when he was in power?” Adomako-Mensah said.
He emphasized the government’s achievements in various sectors, citing the significant increase in personnel in the Police Service, Prisons Service, Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service between 2016 and 2023.
“This government, within a space of 7 years, has added more than 6,000 to the prisons service…these are the records of both political parties, and I am sure the Ghanaian youth is listening and watching,” the Afigya North MP stressed.
He concluded by asking, “Between the two political parties, which of them will you be comfortable with in terms of youth employment?”
