The chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Election Commission (EC) are conspiring to rig the general elections in 2024.
Mr. Nketia claims that in order to ensure that the voter registration is accurate for the next elections, the EC is purposefully postponing the delivery of the Provisional Voter’s Register to political parties.
According to him, the EC is hiding the Provisional Register so that the NPP can introduce its platform and give voters the false impression that everything is proceeding as planned.
He brought up the NPP’s manifesto unveiling in the Western Region, where Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s vice president and flagbearer, said he “means business,”Asiedu Nketia told Accra FM.
But Mr. Nketia retorted, saying that Dr. Bawumia’s true goal is an election-rigging operation rather than a business.
