CPP flagbearer promises unemployment benefits youth in 2024 elections

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) flagbearer, Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, has made audacious pledges in her platform about unemployment benefits and youth empowerment in advance of the 2024 elections.

Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah outlined important policies with the goals of enhancing social welfare, lowering unemployment, and promoting competition in the energy industry.

Her proposed agenda includes a major proposal to help unemployed Ghanaians by introducing unemployment benefits. About 1.9 million young people in Ghana are unemployed right now, which presents a serious security risk, according to Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah.

Her intention is to create a Job Fund in order to provide financial assistance to young individuals who want to start creative businesses.

When we are elected, we will establish a fund for jobs. Asserting her dedication to establishing a nation of opportunity, Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Accra-based Original FM which he said, “Our youth have the vision, so I will give them the needed funding.”

She also pledged to guarantee job stability for all by ending the custom of firing employees when a new political party takes office.

She also touched on contentious subjects like “galamsey,” or illegal mining, saying that his government will unite the operators to pursue large-scale mining as a more long-term solution to the problem.
