Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has asked his party members to start house-to-house campaign. Speaking at a rally in Sikaman in the Akrofroum Constituency of the Asante Region, he said every available vote is important and needed to ensure that the ruling political party retained power and continue their splendid works in the last eight years. In this regard, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, affectionately called ‘Napo’, stressed that the house-to-house campaign strategy would help the electoral fortunes of the NPP.
According to Napo, President Nana Akufo-Addo’s NPP administration has performed exceptionally well in the last eight years so the NPP members should preach about it. He also urged the NPP members to thoroughly explain Dr. Bawumia’s plans to improve upon Nana Akufo-Addo’s achievements to the electorates to help win more votes.
In 2016, the price of a bag of cocoa could purchase 13 bags of cement. Fast forward to 2024, and the price of a single bag of cocoa can now buy 34 bags of cement. This simple yet powerful comparison is what the residents of Sikaman and connecting communities in the Akrofuom constituency are using to assess the real impact of NPP policies on their lives.
They have seen the tangible benefits and will vote overwhelmingly for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in December to ensure further improvements in their livelihoods. Napo also outlined the NPP’s plans to ensure that the people of the constituency benefit directly from the God-given mineral resources in their area. These plans emphasize responsible mining practices that safeguard the environment while providing economic benefits for the constituency.
This vision aligns with NPP’s broader strategy to regulate and promote environmentally sustainable small-scale mining across the country. The people of Akrofuom have a long-standing loyalty to the NPP, and he is very confident that they will once again deliver a resounding victory for Dr. Bawumia. They will also ensure the re-election of Alex Blankson to Parliament on the NPP’s ticket.
Napo, who commands a lot of respect and support in the NPP, especially in the Ashanti Region, said hard work and effective campaign strategy is needed to ensure victory. He reiterated that “House to house campaign is key to ensure our victory. We are going door-to-door, room-to-room, office-to-office and market-to-market for votes”.
Hon. Kennedy Agyepong stressed that the core purpose of politics is to drive development, calling on voters to choose leaders who will prioritize the nation’s growth.
Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Alex Blankson emphasized that continued development should be prioritized over political allegiances, urging the people to vote for NPP to continue delivering progress.
