The Electoral Commission has released the ballot data that will be used to direct the production of the ballots for the 2024 general election and the presidential and parliamentary elections.
The Commission stated that it factored in a two percent increase in addition to the total number of voters on the 2024 Provisional Voters Register (PVR) when determining the ballot statistics.
In the 2024 General Election, not all registered voters will cast ballots, despite the Commission’s encouragement and welcome for a full turnout on election day.
The EC in a statement issued on Monday, October 14 said that it is “confident that the methodology relied upon, that is utilizing the total number of voters on the PVR plus a two percent increase to guide the printing of ballots, is adequate and will not result in shortfalls or unnecessary wastage. This methodology of adding a percentage increase has been used by the Commission to guide the printing of ballots since 1992. We entreat the Public to trust us to deliver on our mandate.”
