The Ghana Police Service has arrested Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, parents of 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, who allegedly caused a fatal accident at East Legon on Saturday, October 12.
Elrad, driving a Jaguar SUV with one passenger, collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle driven by Joseph Ackah with four occupants. Both vehicles caught fire, claiming two lives.
The police statement revealed that investigations established Elrad’s age and the severity of the crash prompted his parents’ arrest to determine the full circumstances.
Bishop Amoako and his wife are currently assisting the investigation.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, led a team to commiserate with the bereaved family and visit the injured.
“The Police assure the public of a thorough investigation to bring closure to the affected family,” the statement added.
