Ghana maintained their lead and went into halftime ahead. However, Togo equalized just one minute into the second half. The rest of the match saw no further goals, ending in a 1-1 draw.
In the other Group A match, Niger clinched a late goal to defeat Benin 1-0. As a result, both Ghana and Niger have progressed to the knockout rounds, with Ghana finishing first with 5 points and Niger coming in second with 4 points. Togo and Benin ended with 3 points and 2 points, respectively.
In the semifinal scheduled for Sunday, October 27, Ghana will come up against the second placed team in Group B, where Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso are battling it out.
