A joint operation by the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces is underway to bring the security situation in Bawku and its surrounding areas under control.

The Ghana Police Service said in a statement that the joint operation will also cover the Bolgatanga-Walewale-Tamale highway to manage vehicular traffic and maintain security.
“We are working to bring the security situation in Bawku, its surrounding areas, and along the Bolgatanga-Walewale-Tamale highway, under control,” the statement reads.
The Ghana Police Service, led by Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has assured the public of its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
“We are committed to maintaining peace, security, law, and order in Bawku and its environs,” the statement emphasizes.
