2024 election: Bawumia unveils job creation plan for Ghana’s youth

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated his pledge to prioritize creating jobs for Ghana’s young, promising millions of new possibilities should he be elected in the December 7 elections.

Speaking to young people attending the “Engagement with the Youth” event on Sunday, November 3, 2024, Dr. Bawumia outlined his plan for a youth-driven economic revolution that will revitalize the country’s economy.

“I will outline the bold economic solutions we plan to roll out, which will make it possible to create millions of jobs if I’m given the mandate on December 7,” Dr. Bawumia promised, underscoring his intent to prioritise young people.

He continued that: “I have chosen this occasion to remind you, the young people, of the commitment made a year ago to make you my number one priority.”

By January 2025, Dr. Bawumia plans to implement a number of business-friendly policies that would increase sector-wide development, foster sustainable job creation, and accelerate Ghana’s economic recovery.

“My commitment is to transform Ghana, to build on the economic recovery we are witnessing by introducing bold business-friendly policy initiatives.”

According to the NPP flagbearer, “these policies are designed to stimulate significant economic activities.”

He emphasized that the measures would offer young Ghanaians previously unheard-of opportunities by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in addition to creating jobs.

“I’m confident that these initiatives will create the large pool of diverse jobs that young Ghanaian people desire and deserve,” Dr. Bawumia assured.

Dr. Bawumia ended with a call to action, urging Ghana’s youth to band together in support of his goal for an inclusive and rejuvenated economy:

“Together, let us build a brighter, more prosperous future for every Ghanaian,” he added.
