Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) immediate past national chairman, claims that the government’s economic policies are to blame for the challenges facing Ghanaians.
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo called the government’s economic policies “weapons of mass destruction” while speaking at a rally in Battor, in the North Tongu Constituency, on Tuesday as part of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang’s Volta Regional campaign.
He claimed that a number of people had died as a result of the government’s economic policies. He referenced a public declaration made by Mr. Michael Agyekum Addo, the CEO of the KAMA Group of Companies, prior to his passing, stating that he was suffering greatly as a result of the government’s poor economic policies.
“Dr Bawumia’s policies are like weapons of mass destruction. They have destroyed banks, and microfinance and have thrown several people out of jobs and we are not going to allow him to lie to Ghanaians again”, Dr Ofosu Ampofo said.
He claimed that it is not surprising that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the head of the government’s Economic Management Team, has shifted his focus from economic concerns to promoting digitalization.
According to Dr. Ofosu Ampofo, the fiber optics and infrastructure backbone supplied by the previous Mahama administration serve as the foundation for the government’s digitalization agenda.
“The NDC’s presidential candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, reigns supreme when it comes to a leader that Ghanaians can trust,” the immediate past NDC Chairman said in reference to the upcoming elections, saying that this year’s election is about having faith in leadership.
