The Parliament of Ghana will resume sitting today, Thursday, November 7.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, adjourned the House sine die on Tuesday, October 22.
During the adjournment announcement, Speaker Bagbin briefly noted that he had received a communication from the Supreme Court, which directed him to stay his earlier ruling that declared four parliamentary seats vacant.
The decision followed the drama of the Members of Parliament from both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) occupying the majority chamber.
However, in accordance with Article 112(3) and Orders 5 and 53 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, the Office of the Speaker on Thursday, October 31, summoned Parliament to sit on November 7, 2024, at Ten O’clock in the forenoon at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre.
