The CEO of the Atta Mills Institute and aide to late president Atta Mills, Samuel Koku Anyidoho has berated the brothers of late president for doing nothing to protect his legacy.
The banter between president Mills family and Koku Anyidoho started in July 2022 when the latter lobbied for the current government to refurbish the Asomdwoe Park, the final resting place of the late president, which was then in a deplorable state.
This time Mr. Anyidoho once again lobbied the Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to fund for the construction of an ultramodern library at Ekumfi Otuam, President Atta Mills’ hometown in his memory. The library is expected to keep the memories of the 3rd President of the 4th Republic of Ghana to generations yet to come.
At a ceremony to officially commission the edifice, Mr. Anyidoho recounted how the late President’s brothers attacked him when he tried to renovate the Asomdwoe park
“President died as the President of the Republic of Ghana. What do we do honour his memory? Abusuapanin has already spoken about Asomdwoe Park. John Mahama was president of Ghana for 4 years but couldn’t do anything about it, but I was attacked left, right and center when I led efforts to renovate the place” he said.
Twelve years after president Mills’ demise, Mr. Anyidoho queried the late brothers of Atta Mills to point to a single effort they have championed to keep their brothers legacy.
“Twelve years after his death, I am challenging President Mills late brothers Samuel (Samuel Atta Mills, MP for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem)and Cadman (Dr. Cadman Mills) to show a single thing they have done to keep his memory. Ask them. They have done absolutely nothing” he added.
He was full appreciation to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for solely funding for the project
