Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has announced that the seventh meeting of the fourth session of the eighth Parliament will take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
This decision was made official in a notice issued on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, following an earlier summons on December 2, 2024.
The meeting, scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10 am, aims to bring together Members of Parliament (MPs) and other parliamentary officials to address pressing legislative matters.
This recall comes after Bagbin declined an earlier request by NPP caucus leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to reconvene the House.
In a memo dated November 26, Bagbin explained that Parliament would resume after the general elections to complete essential matters and ensure a seamless transition to the ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
He emphasized the importance of decorum in parliamentary proceedings and urged MPs to prioritize the national interest.
