Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah, the former member of parliament for the Buem constituency, has reassured Ghanaians that Mahama’s administration will maintain the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy and provide funding specifically for it to be sustainable.
Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah denied rumors that, NDC would abolish Free SHS, describing them as a “political gimmick” intended to deceive the public.
“Free SHS is here to stay,” emphasizing that although the program has expanded educational opportunities, obtaining long-term funding is crucial to ensuring its continued existence,”Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah told Kwaku Owusu Adjei(Patoo) on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original TV.
“To maintain it and raise its caliber, we need to make sure it has adequate funding,”he added.
Daniel Kwesi Ashiamah’s remarks reflect the NDC’s commitment to the Free SHS policy, though with a focus on securing consistent funding to address the programme’s challenges.
He assured Ghanaians that under the new NDC leadership, Free SHS would not only remain but would be strengthened to meet the needs of future generations.
