The Electoral Commission (EC) has been directed by the High Court in Accra to go ahead and compile and announce the results of the Parliamentary Elections in the Eastern region’s Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency.
The Inspector General of Police has also been directed by the court, which is presided over by Justice Rev. Joseph Adu-Owusu Agyeman, to maintain sufficient security for the EC at all collation centers.
After incumbent Member of Parliament Nsawam Adoagyiri filed a Mandamus Application to force the EC to compile and announce the results, the Court issued its order on Friday, December 20, 2024.
The EC lawyers, under the leadership of Justine Amenuvor, stated that although the EC had received the application, they did not object.
