President John Dramani Mahama has announced a number of important security appointments that are intended to improve national security and guarantee public safety.
Prosper Douglas Bani, the President’s National Security Advisor, is in the lead of the appointments. As a former Interior Minister and Chief of Staff, Mr. Bani brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in security and governance to the position.
COP Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd.) has also been appointed by the President to the position of Director of Operations at the Presidency, where he will be in charge of operational efficacy in security-related affairs. COP Boakye is well known for his operational expertise and decades of service.
Charles Kipo has also been named Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), a crucial position that focuses on obtaining and analyzing intelligence in order to anticipate security threats.
These nominations demonstrate the administration’s commitment to safeguarding national security and building confidence with citizens.
