Minority informs former gov’t appointees to boycott invitations from ORAL team

The Minority in Parliament has urged former government appointees to refuse any invitations from the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee, calling its formation unconstitutional.

The Minority caucus, led by Suame Member of Parliament John Darko, argued that the creation of ORAL is illegal, citing the existence of constitutionally established bodies to investigate alleged wrongdoings.

John Darko emphasized that former government officials would not participate in ORAL activities in any way.

“No serious country will entertain anything like this. So, if you are a former government official and receive an invitation from this so-called ORAL, the Minority’s advice is to boycott it,” he said.

“We will not participate because we believe constitutionally mandated bodies are equipped to investigate any alleged mistakes of the government.”

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, serves as the chair of ORAL.
