President Mahama appoints Edudzi Tamaklo as acting CEO of NPA

Godwin Edudzi Tamaklo has been named the National Petroleum Authority’s (NPA) acting CEO by President John Dramani Mahama.

The Presidency made the announcement on Friday, January 17, in a press statement.

The NPA is the regulatory agency in charge of Ghana’s petroleum sector, making sure that its activities support both national growth and international standards.

Mr. Edudzi Tamaklo, who is now the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Director of Legal Affairs, offers a plethora of expertise to his new position.

President Mahama’s emphasis on bolstering leadership within important national institutions is reflected in Mr. Tamaklo’s selection, who is well-known for his legal expertise and dedication to public service.

On Saturday, January 18, Mr. Tamaklo wrote on Facebook to thank President Mahama for giving him the chance to serve in this role.

He promised to put in a lot of effort to earn back the confidence that had been put in him.

“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and will put my best foot forward to deliver on the confidence reposed in me,” he stated, assuring Ghanaians of his readiness to meet the demands of his new role.

The petroleum industry’s stakeholders and NDC members have welcomed the appointment.

Many think that under Mr. Tamaklo’s direction, the NPA will operate more transparently and efficiently.
