Mahama’s trips on Dzata private jet has not cost the Ghanaian taxpayer a dime – Kwakye Ofosu

President John Mahama’s acting spokesperson has defended the president’s use of his brother Ibrahim Mahama’s private jet for official travel to Senegal and The Gambia.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu responded to public concerns by stating that the President had access to the private jet prior to the general elections in 2024.

He emphasized that since the jet was given away for free, the Ghanaian taxpayer is not financially burdened by this arrangement.

He assured the populace that President Mahama was sensitive to Ghana’s economic difficulties and committed to sound financial management.

Additionally, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu noted that the use of the private jet was necessary temporarily because the official presidential aircraft is currently being reviewed by the Communications Squadron, the Air Force unit in charge of its operation.

“The most critical point is that this alternative arrangement has not in any way, shape, or form cost the Ghanaian taxpayer a dime.

“President Mahama is mindful of the precarious economic situation and is committed to utilising public funds prudently,” Kwakye Ofosu stated in an interview with TV3.

“The president is focused on ensuring the best outcomes for Ghana, especially during these economically challenging times,” he added.
