Daniel Sillo, a Member of Parliament from Tanzania led a 10-member delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
The purpose was to learn from Ghana’s Standing Orders, foster collaboration between the two Parliaments, and exchange experiences.
In an address by the Speaker, he stressed the importance of updating Standing Orders to reflect an evolving democracy and commended Tanzania’s female Speaker while advocating for more female involvement in parliamentary decision-making.
He expressed willingness to visit Tanzania to share more knowledge and emphasize unity in addressing continental and global challenges.
The delegation observed proceedings in the House and will be meeting Ghana’s technical committee on its new Standing Orders at a later date
