Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the MP for Akim Swedru, has proposed expanding the party’s electoral college to allow card-carrying members to vote in internal elections.
According to him, this endeavor would address internal concerns that frequently occur as a result of individual names being omitted from the register.
He went on to say that expanding participation to card-carrying members will create inclusivity and strengthen grassroots unity within the party.
He emphasized that this step will resolve concerns related to the exclusion of persons from the register, which have historically caused tensions and put undue pressure on the party’s leadership.
“The party should expand the current numbers of the polling station executives and the election area coordinators for the purposes of party coordination at the local levels and allow every card bearing member of the party to take part of all internal elections and decision makings,”Kennedy Osei Nyarko wrote this on Facebook.
Kennedy Osei Nyarko also called for the participation of all card-holders in decision-making processes, including as the election of Constituency, Regional, and National executives, as well as Parliamentary Candidates in their respective Constituencies.
He emphasized that the most effective method to permanently address these difficulties is to open up the NPP’s Electoral College so that all card-holders can participate in conferences and elections.
