Akufo-Addo sacks Ofori-Atta, reshuffles his government

Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta was dismissed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, February 14, as part of a significant government shift.

The reshuffle has impacted about 13 of the current ministers of state, including 10 cabinet members and 2 regional ministers.

 

President Akufo-Addo has submitted the names of the following individuals for appointment as Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State in accordance with articles 78, 79, and 256, respectively, of the Constitution to Parliament for approval prior to the Government’s reorganization through the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin).

The following Ministers of State and Deputy Ministers of State have also been reassigned by President Akufo-Addo to new positions, and he has instructed them to start serving in their new capacities right away.
