Several hospital projects will be inaugurated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today, December 5, 2024, as part of the government’s flagship Agenda 111 project.
The goal of the program is to increase access to high-quality healthcare services by developing the nation’s healthcare infrastructure.
Both the Oforikrom Municipal Hospital and the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipal Hospital in Trede, both in the Ashanti Region, will be inaugurated. These facilities are a component of a larger plan to build 111 regional and specialty hospitals across the country.
Presidential Advisor on Health, emphasized the importance of these projects and the fact that they are staffed by trained professionals, have state-of-the-art medical equipment, and modern units to guarantee effective service delivery.
“We have a complete 100-bed hospital with an accident and emergency centre, with a neonatal unit and pediatric unit. That is where small children will be, and older children also will be. With a maternity home, a kitchen, a mortuary, OPD, a pharmacy, an X-ray, and a laboratory, it is a complete hospital.
“We have an eye department, dental department, ENT department, and consulting rooms. We have public health units inside the hospital.”
President Akufo-Addo’s plan to enhance health results, lessen patient overcrowding, and fortify Ghana’s healthcare system includes the Agenda 111 program as a major element.
With today’s inauguration, this ambitious objective is one step closer to being realized.
