The Births and Deaths Registry of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has commenced a free mass birth registration exercise for infants aged 0–12 months.
This initiative aims to ensure that every birth occurring within the metropolis is recorded, providing equal rights to identity for all newborns.
The exercise began today, July 22, 2024, and is scheduled to continue to the end of November.
The AMA has designated all health facilities, delivery centres, and weighing centres within the metropolis as registration points.
