The National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication officer, Sammy Gyamfi, and other party officials have received a warning from the judge overseeing the state’s lawsuit against Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson and others to exercise caution when making comments.
Judge Afia Serwah Asare Botwe expressed her dissatisfaction with the commentary on the case and cautioned that anyone attempting to stir up controversy in the court will not be allowed. She also emphasized that both parties should refrain from trying to use public opinion in their case.
Sammy Gyamfi was called to the case on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, by Judge Afia Serwah Asare Botwe, who felt that the NDC’s communications officer was not present during last week’s cross-examination and should not be questioned about a statement he made following the proceedings.

, “…In principle, the caution of the court is in order.”
He clarified that his remark was a hypothetical one that wasn’t meant to shock the court or the trial’s presiding judge, saying that it was extremely clear.
“My statement was very clear, it was a hypothetical statement that if you have an Attorney General who can call an accused person on the blind side of his lawyer when he knows the ethics of the bar prescribes that the person can call a… it was in reference to this and I think that we’ll see the incontrovertible evidence to show that, that hypothetical statement I made is actually a fact.”
