Annoh Dompreh cries out to Speaker to remedy Ag. Petroleum Commission boss’ ‘silly’ attack against him

The Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has reported Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle, the acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission, to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, over alleged insults and derogatory comments made during the vetting of Defense Minister-designate Dr. Edward Omane Buamah.

A viral video circulating online shows Madam Emeafa Hardcastle engaging in a heated exchange with the Nsawam Adoagyiri lawmaker addressing him as “micro minority,” a term popularized by Speaker Alban Bagbin to tease the NPP side in Parliament.

Annoh Dompreh took offense to the comment, questioning its meaning and intent.

The exchange escalated when Madam Victoria Emefa Hardcastle noted that she cannot be bullied after demanding to know if Annoh Dompreh was threatening her and also stating that Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin is aware of the “micro minority” phrase.

Madam Emeafa Hardcastle also referred to Annoh Dompreh as a “silly gentleman,” further infuriating him.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament, the Nsawam Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh Dompreh, made a strong case for Madam Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle to be held accountable for her alleged derogatory comments towards him.

According to Annoh Dompreh, taking action against the acting CEO of Petroleum Commission would serve as a deterrent to others who might consider unjustly attacking members of Parliament.

He emphasized the need to protect the integrity and dignity of Parliament and its members.

However, Kwame Governs Agbodza,
Member of Parliament for Adaklu, called for calm and restraint in the wake of a heated exchange between Annoh Dompreh and Emeafa Hardcastle.

He disclosed that Annoh Dompreh informed him that Madam Emeafa Hardcastle has apologized sincerely for her actions and, importantly, doesn’t have a history of disparaging Parliament, therefore, she should be pardoned.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has taken up the matter to invite Madam Emeafa Hardcastle on Thursday, January 30, to deal with the matter and report to the house.
