Atlantic Lithium company supports rehabilitation of five schools in Central Region

Atlantic Lithium Company has donated GHC 304,036.30 towards the rehabilitation of five schools in the Mfantseman Municipality and Abura-Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region.

The schools, which were affected by heavy rains, are Bafikrom Methodist Basic School, Krofu Methodist Basic School, Saltpond T.I. Ahmadiyya Basic School, Anglican Basic School, and Afrangua D/A Basic School.

Presenting the cheque, Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Lithium, Mr. Keith Muller, expressed devastation at the incident and pledged the company’s support to ensure the timely completion of the project.

Dr. Millicent Aning-Agyei, Community Relations and Social Performance Manager of Atlantic Lithium, said the company is collaborating with the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly, Abura-Asebu Kwamankese District Assembly, and the schools’ administration to rehabilitate the affected schools.

She appealed to the government to grant the company the permit to commence full mining, assuring that they are ready to deliver to the community.

The Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive, Ike Lord Ennu, commended the gesture and confirmed that Atlantic Lithium Company Ltd is going through the process to obtain all necessary mining permits.

Assemblyman for the Krofu Electoral area, Anthony Nana Yaw Handson, pledged his support to monitor the project to ensure its timely completion.

The rehabilitation of the schools is expected to improve teaching and learning activities, which were affected by the heavy rains.
