One person have died in Bawku following an allege military brutality in the area.
The deceased, Azampak Sadik, a 54 year old farmer was said to be grazing his animals at Zemasa a suburb of Bawku with one other Mahmudu Awudu when the said officers pounced on them and brutalize them leading to the death of Sadik with Awudu sustaining serious injuries.
In press statement, the Kusaug traditional council has condemned the act and called for a probe into the matter.
The Traditional Council has also bemoaned the numerous attacks and killing of some individuals in Bawku that is reported to be coming from the military since the inception of the conflict in 2021. They mentioned the killing of eight people at Zoogin, one young girl at Buabula, one Alhassan Kabasib at Gozesi, three young men at Sabongari and one woman from Sabongari . This, they say have have been the barbaric activities of some if the officers who are deployed in the area to maintain peace.
The Kusaug Traditional council have therefore called on residents of Bawku embrace peace for development to prevail.
