Bawumia files nomination for presidential election

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), filed in his nomination paperwork at the Electoral Commission offices.

His running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and his spouse, Alma Pokua Adade-Prempeh, were also with him. Samira Bawumia is his wife.

Party officials are also present at the EC to offer support and solidarity. These individuals include Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, General Secretary Justin Koduah Frimpong, National Chairman Stephen Ntim, and other prominent NPP members.

Later in the day, John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, is anticipated to submit his nomination.

Bawumia is aiming to break the eight-year curse and succeed his boss, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the next leader of Ghana.
