Bawumia’s Use Of A Single Bus For Campaign Highly Innovative And Commendable – Koku Anyidoho

Tuesday, April 29, 2024, saw Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, kick-start his Presidential Campaign tour in the Eastern Region and his appearance/approach, has got eyes watching and tongues speaking.

Adopting a very unique style of using a single branded bus as opposed to the customary long convoys of four-wheel vehicles, Dr. Bawumia has opened a very new and innovative page in the books of political campaigning in Ghana.

In an interview with Koku Anyidoho, Founder and CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute (AMI), he has expressed his very deep admiration for the unique and innovative vision with which Dr. Bawumia has set out to reach voters with his presence and message.

According to Koku, who was a very key anchor of President John Evans Atta-Mills’ victory engine box in 2008, he has been “bowled over by this extremely powerful campaign style”.

“As a key architect of how President Atta-Mills won in 2008, I have a very strong sense of appreciation of what makes voters warm up to candidates”.

“The master plan is to be able to touch the hearts and minds of voters and I have no doubt that the very modest style of using a single bus by the NPP Flagbearer will certainly sit well with voters” Koku said.

According to the former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, it is very sad the way the current crop of NDC Leaders, especially former President John Mahama, have sat idly by and allowed the NPP to take the Social Democratic spirit away from them.

“Under normal circumstances, if the leadership of the NDC was alive to the real spirit of the party, they should have been the ones to adopt this strategy but alas, they have allowed the NPP to take the wind out of their sail” Koku said.

According to Koku” as a Public Relations Expert and a Political Strategist, the positive optics of what Dr. Bawumia is doing cannot be taken lightly and I don’t think any rational person would not notice the innovative approach to politics that is taking place”.

Koku is of the view that apart from adopting the “hands-touching approach which was used by President Atta-Mills, the additional uniqueness of using the bus is a huge plus for Dr. Bawumia and will certainly endear him to voters”.

“This is a very strong testimony that when Dr. Bawumia said he has his own vision, he was indeed telling us a strong story about what he stands for and the new things he has up his sleeves if given the opportunity to manage the affairs of state”.
