CAF urges Ghana to prioritize key enhancements ahead of crucial Sudan match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Accra Sports Stadium management to prioritize critical enhancements ahead of Ghana’s crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.

While CAF has given Ghana the green light to host the match at Accra Sports Stadium, an official letter emphasized the need for improvements to the pitch and other key areas to ensure an optimal experience for both teams and fans.

Ghana’s National Sports Authority and Ministry of Youth and Sports are working tirelessly to meet CAF’s standards before the match. With the Baba Yara Stadium currently closed due to pitch issues, the Accra venue will host this high-stakes game.

Led by coach Kwesi Appiah, Sudan will pose a significant challenge. After a draw and a loss in their opening two Group F matches, Ghana faces a must-win situation in the doubleheader against Sudan to improve their chances of qualifying for the AFCON tournament.
