CLOGSAG declares nationwide strike over appointment of politically exposed person

The Ghana Civil Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) has urged its members to get ready for a statewide work stoppage scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2025.

The planned walkout is in protest of Samuel Adom Botchway’s ongoing employment at the Births and Deaths Registry, even after the government promised to fire him.

In contrast to the government’s previous pledge, CLOGSAG claims that Mr. Botchway’s attendance at the office’s budget hearing at the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs on Monday, February 17, 2025, is proof that he is still in his position.

The group reiterated that the walkout will go ahead as planned until their concerns are addressed in a statement issued by Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo.
