Joseph Boahen Aidoo has formally resigned as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), with effect from January 7, 2025.
He resigned in response to a mandate on January 13, 2025, that all State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) board memberships be terminated.
Mr. Aidoo wrote to President John Dramani Mahama on January 16 that, despite the fact that his renewed mandate was set to expire in July 2025, his decision was made to ensure a seamless transition and to enable stakeholders and business partners to connect with the incoming leadership in a timely manner.
Additionally, Mr. Aidoo thanked former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving him the chance to lead COCOBOD as its CEO for the last eight years.
“I hereby tender my resignation as Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board, effective January 7, 2025,” his letter concluded.”
