EC Starts Distribution of Ballots Nationwide

The ballots for the general elections scheduled for December 7 will be transported by the Electoral Commission (EC) today, Thursday, November 14.

EC Deputy Chairman for Operations Samuel Tettey wrote to the General Secretaries of all political parties to inform them that final preparations have begun and that ballot papers are being sent to each region under strict security.

“We bring you warm greetings from the Electoral Commission… [and] inform you that the transportation of ballot papers to the various regions will start tomorrow,” Mr. Tettey noted in the letter, dated November 13.

This stage comes after the EC spent a month preparing to finalize voter registration, assign polling places, and train election officials, among other things.

In order to ensure fairness and transparency, the letter states that the ballots will be stored in secure police facilities in each region until election day, before being turned over to officials in front of party representatives.

The EC has reaffirmed its dedication to preserving the electoral process’s integrity, emphasizing that strict security measures are in place to guard against ballot paper tampering and illegal access.
