Economic Woes: 24-hour economy is the solution – Mahama

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says his proposed 24-hour economy initiative is to address Ghana’s economic challenges.

In a special live broadcast monitored by, Mahama said the initiative would create an enabling environment for businesses, companies, and government agencies to operate 24/7, creating more jobs and recruiting more people into employment.

“The 24-hour economy is the answer to Ghana’s challenges now and in the future,” Mahama said.

Mahama noted that the 24-economic policy has numerous benefits, including 24-hour port and harbour services, customs services, DVLA services, agro-processing factories, manufacturing industries, and construction companies.

The former president said the initiative would double and triple the number of jobs in public and private entities, providing efficient service delivery and generating decent and well-paying jobs.
